What is Boomerang?
Boomerang is a skill-based learning platform for people to connect, learn, and grow authentically as they age. We aim to help Canadians build social connections and find new purpose in their retirement years. Through our live online workshops, members will learn new skills, meet like minded people, and/or share their knowledge or passions with others by becoming hosts. What is a wellness workshop?
What is the difference between a Boomerang workshop and a class?
The biggest difference between a Boomerang workshop and a class is people sign up for Boomerang workshops to have fun! It is a social learning experience. While you will learn some serious skills, there is no assignment or test. You can interact with the host or other members in many of our workshops.
What is the difference between Boomerang workshops and a seminars?
Do I get to participate in the workshop?
Yes, absolutely. Boomerang hosts will typically guide you through an exercise, or teach you a skill while you follow along in the workshop. Many of our workshops are also designed so you can interact with the host - asking questions or clarifying instructions - and socialize with other attendees during the workshop.
Who can join Boomerang?
We created Boomerang as a place for people to learn new skills, explore their passions and create meaningful connections. While our workshops are geared towards retired and semi-retired individuals, everyone is welcome no matter your age or stage in life!

Boomerang's headquarters are in Toronto, Ontario, but our online workshops are accessible across the country. All of our workshops operate on Eastern Standard Time (EST).

What are the benefits of Boomerang’s workshops?
Our workshops are live events that happen with a host (an instructor) and a group of Boomerang members who have registered for the same workshop. Boomerang isn't just about learning new recipes, gardening or yoga. We are creating a community for older adults to meet new people and have fun! What do I need to join an online workshop?
Can I get the recording of the workshops I attended?
Free workshops do not include recordings. There are recordings offered with some of our premium workshops. Please ensure you read the event description to see if a recording will be shared. We will share the link to the recording in a follow-up email after the workshop has been completed.
What are the costs associated with Boomerang and workshops?
What are the service fees mentioned in the terms and conditions?
At Boomerang, it is free to create an account to become a member. We offer both free and premium (meaning at a cost) workshops online. The service fee refers only to the cost of the premium workshops. This cost is listed before you register, and no payment will be taken without you knowing. If you choose to register for a free workshop, you are not prompted to enter any personal payment information (like a credit card number), so you won't be charged any fees as the workshop is free.
How much does Boomerang cost?
Becoming a Boomerang member is totally free. As a member you can view upcoming workshops and get tickets for the ones you’re interested in. Workshops typically range from $0 to $30 depending on the topic and type of offering (ex. standalone workshop vs. a series).
Are there any additional costs besides the cost listed for each workshop?
Nope! The only time you’ll have to pay for something is if you sign up for a premium workshop (a workshop at a cost). The price of each workshop is displayed clearly on its registration page, and you’ll be able to see the total cost before providing your payment information.
How do I get tickets for a workshop?
How can I find workshops that I’m interested in?
You can view all upcoming workshops here. Once you create a free Boomerang account, you’ll be able to save all workshops you are interested in for later, or get tickets for them right away within your account.
How do I attend the workshop I signed up for?
I filled in all the fields and clicked ‘sign up’ on the new Boomerang website, but I did not receive the Activation Email. What should I do?
Please check your spam, trash, promotions and updates folders to look for the activation email. If you cannot find it, please head back to the Boomerang website and click the ‘Resend’ button at the bottom of your screen. If you still do not find the Account Activation email, send the Boomerang Team an email at contact@goboomerang.com and we will do our best to help you.
The ‘Activate Account’ button in the email I got from Boomerang after signing up does not work.
It is important that you click the ‘Activate Account’ button in your Activation Email within 24 hours to complete the process of creating your new Boomerang account. It is important that you do not try to use the link in the same email more than once. If the ‘Activate Account’ button in your email is not working, please email the Boomerang Team at contact@goboomerang.com and we will do our best to solve your issue.
What happens if I’m experiencing technical difficulties during the workshop?

I forgot my password. How can I find out what it is?
That’s no problem! On the sign in page, simply click “forgot my password.” You’ll be asked to provide the email you signed up with. We will send you instructions to reset your password.
I have a workshop idea, who can I tell about it?
If you are more interested in attending a particular type of workshop, our feedback form is a great place for you to suggest new workshop topics.
