About the Workshop

Everyday we are asked to play a variety of Roles. Some that are chosen and some that are chosen for us. At home, at work, at play, we are called to be our best Selves. Whether you are a parent, a grandparent, a boss, a teacher, a student, a professional, a sibling, a spouse, a friend, whatever role you are asked to play, the source within is always You: your Soul Self. Life may pull you in many different directions, but if you can understand the You behind all the masks perhaps you’ll feel more equipped to deal with Life’s pressures and be confident and adaptable to take on any Role that is asked of You.

Together we will identify the many Roles in your Life, and choose the top three that are the most challenging.

Using a Blank Mask, we will objectify and imbue the mask with the characteristics of your top three roles, and mark the differences and similarities You share with those Roles.

Using a Mirror, we will observe Ourselves and the Mask, and experience Who we are with and without the mask. Marking how we feel, how it affects us physically, mentally, spiritually.

Using guided role play and purposeful improvisation we will explore ‘a Day in the Life’ of the top three roles. Marking again how it feels to embody those roles and then remove our mask and be our Soul Selves once again.

Using Mindful Meditation, we will recount the experience, and touch upon the challenges and harmony felt during and after. Envisioning our Soul Selves under our Masks, we will contemplate who we are within, and reflect upon what is required to be the Masks we wear and understand the purpose of You who wears them.

A Blank Mask will be included with your ticket.

What to bring: Writing materials, compact mirror and/or digital camera phone or tablet
