About the Workshop

Learn to Crochet! In this series you'll learn everything you need to know to get hooked on crochet. We'll work through all the basic stitches, both working flat and in the round to give you a solid foundation for moving on in your crochet adventure. Using the Planet Friendly series offered by Wool & The Gang, you'll make The Everything Cloth, Tea Time Towel & Rub a Dub Dub Face Scrubbies. Fun, useful and environmentally friendly, these handy cotton kitchen and bath accessories are not only perfect for learning how to crochet but you'll also have the joy of using your projects around the house after you're done.

Part 3:

After learning how to work flat in the last two sessions, you're now ready to start working in the round.

You'll learn how to join your work into a circle and work in the round, while making Rub a Dub Dub Scrubbies. This fun little project will give you a great foundation of the skills needed to start making different shapes with crochet stitches.

Experience level: Beginner

Materials you will need (we cannot provide these):

  • 200g of worsted weight cotton
  • 5 mm crochet hook

Your local arts & crafts, knitting & crochet stores should have these available. If you're in Toronto, we encourage you to order from our partner, Spin Me a Yarn, for curbside pick-up or neighbourhood delivery.

About our Host:

Many years ago while homeschooling, Terri was looking for a quiet, creative hobby to do alongside her daughter while she worked on her lessons.

What began as something to pass the time turned into a passion for all fibre arts. With her daughter all grown up, Terri found herself in love with knitting, crochet, embroidery, quilting and anything else that involves wool, thread or fabric and wanted to share her skills with everyone! She's both worked at and taught in several local yarn shops in Toronto over the years and happily converts anyone that's willing into a fellow fibre lover.

Accessibility Level: Easy. This workshop can be accessed online through our Boomerang at Home online feature. This is a video conference experience that can be accessed via Mobile, iPad, and Computer devices.
