About the Workshop
If you already know how to knit and are looking for something challenging to add to your knitting skills, join us for a Spring Thing Shawl knit-along. We will review casting on; increasing and decreasing and an icord edge/optional tassels to complete your project.
Part 1: Spring Thing Shawl - Casting On and Increases
A refresher on casting on and discussing the options & benefits of knitted/cable/long tail cast on methods. Beginning the shawl with increases and the garter stitch. Homework will be to complete the mid-section of the shawl.
Experience level: Intermediate to Advanced
Materials you will need (we cannot provide these):
- Project Pattern (supplied by Boomerang)
- 400y of fingering weight yarn of main colour
- 87y of fingering weight contrasting colour
- 4mm, 5mm and 6mm circular needles
Your local arts & crafts, knitting & crochet stores should have these available. If you're in Toronto, we encourage you to order from our partner and the host's store, Spin Me a Yarn, for curbside pick-up or neighbourhood delivery.
