About the Workshop

The Huichol People of Mexico use beads embedded in wax to portray images for ceremonial art. Join Pamela Kearns to learn how to use this ancient, yet easy, technique in a 2-hour session. Students will learn how to apply beads onto a small disk to create a fridge magnet. Everything is included: beads, wax, applicator and wooden disk with magnet. Bring magnification, such as reading glasses if you need them - beads are small!

About our Host:

Although a seed beader at heart, Pamela Kearns has been branching out into new techniques and combining the best of all worlds into her jewellery creations. She had her first project published in the May/June 2013 issue of Beadwork. Pam taught at the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Bead and Button Shows in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A problem solver, Pam thoroughly enjoys teaching and inspiring students to think beyond basic techniques encouraging students to stamp their own vision on projects. As a ‘Lefty’, Pam includes ‘Lefty-Alerts’ within her class instructions ensuring that everyone is able to complete the techniques easily. She is very involved in the Toronto Bead Society and teaches several times a month at BeadFX, a bricks-and-mortar/on-line bead store in Toronto.
