About the Workshop

Fougasse is a ladder shaped flatbread that originated in the south of France. This gorgeous bread is flavoured with dry herbs, cheese, and other aromatics. Though it is a show stopper, this recipe is very simple to make and uses ingredients you may already have in your pantry. Join me online as I demonstrate step by step how to create this beautiful French bread! 

Ingredients: 

2 1⁄2 tsp Active Dry Yeast

1⁄2 cup Warm Water + 1 cup Warm Water

1 tsp Granulated Sugar

4 1⁄2 cups Bread or AP Flour

1⁄2 tsp Salt

1 tsp Olive Oil + more for brushing

2 tsp Fresh Herbs of your choice (chopped) + more for sprinkling

1 tbsp Orange Zest 1 tsp Orange Blossom Water

A recipe sheet with instructions will be shared with you a few days in advance of the online workshop. 

About our Host: 

Shiela Labao is a self-taught baker of over 10 years – so you can say that she’s had a lot of practice baking for fun. Realizing that her passion and skills can bring a community together, she decided to get a bit more serious and start baking for a purpose. Shiela has completed professional classes at George Brown College. Always focusing on the science behind the baking.
