About the Workshop

Walking around with the idea of writing your own novel? Perhaps for months, or even years? We know how you feel. Things like time, not enough knowledge or lack of self confidence can hold you back. Well, it's time to change that! Join us on November 13th for a Storytelling & Creative Writing workshop to help you improve your fictional writing. In the first part of this workshop, Jane will go through a few of the obstacles you may face in writing your first novel. The second part of the workshop will focus on what key elements a novel needs. We will discuss things such as characters, storylines and structure. In the last portion of the workshop, we will work on developing your main character or a character of the story you would like to write. No prior writing experience is required.

Each participant will receive a handout with all the information that's being covered to take home.

About your Host:

Jane Trapman moved from the Netherlands to Toronto 1.5 years ago. At the end of 2018, she was able to proudly present her first - self published - novel to the world. She is currently writing the sequel and started the brainstorming phase for a feature screenplay. Writing has always been a major part of her life. It started with songs when she was a kid, then turned into stories when she was a young teenager, and it became her profession when she began working in marketing. Aside from being a writer, she owns a business that focuses on personal growth & personal branding (Zorro Branding), and she also works in the film industry. She graduated with a Bachelor in Content, Media and Entertainment management, and a Masters in Imagineering. She is looking forward to meeting all aspiring authors!
