About the Workshop
In this online series of workshops, our seasoned Artisan, Laurie Poirier will teach your how to create various jewellery pieces. These workshops will take place every Friday and Wednesday at 1:00 PM starting Friday, April 3rd.
This workshop series will include:
Session 1, April 3rd @ 1:00 PM: Wire Wrapping a Stone - Learn how to wrap an undrilled stone to create a pendant.
Session 2, April 8th @ 1:00 PM: Wire Wrapped Loops - Learn how to do simple loops and wrapped loops to create a bracelet.
Session 3, April 10th @ 1:00 PM: Stretch Bracelets - Those lovely popular stone bracelets? They are so easy to do! Now you can make some too.
Session 4, April 15th @ 1:00 PM: Earrings - Laurie will be showing how to create simple earrings to match any outfit or personality.
Session 5, April 17th @ 1:00 PM: Kumihimo - Laurie will show you how to make a kumi disk and how to weave on it. This one is great because you can find almost everything right in your home!
Each session will include:
- Time to socialize with a group of Boomerang Members online
- Laurie will teach you how to create a different jewelerry piece every session.
You will be emailed a list of tools and supplies for each week but even if you don't have everything, you will be able to learn, take notes, and ask questions!
About our Host:
Laurie is a Toronto Artisan who has been crafting in various forms since childhood. As an adult, she began teaching paper crafting and through that found her passion for teaching jewellery to all ages.
Laurie has taught children in schools to seniors in Church groups. Her classes range from Jewellery 101 to more advanced Chainmaille and Wire working.
Laurie has been selling at craft shows for the past ten years and teaching for the past eight years at Michael's, John Bead Outlet, Gem Expo, Craftandian, Toronto Public Libraries, Home Parties and her own private home studio.
Accessibility Level: Easy. This workshop can be accessed online through our Boomerang at Home online feature. This is a video conference experience that can be accessed via Mobile, iPad, and Computer devices. Your device must have a microphone and/or camera to participate.
