Book Club: Such a Fun Age (Chapters 8 - 14)
Time & Location
About the Workshop
Boomerang's online book club is hosting a new series and we want you to join us! This month we will be reading Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. From Penguin Random House Canada: ''A striking and surprising debut novel from an exhilarating new voice, Such a Fun Age is a page-turning and big-hearted story about race and privilege, set around a young black babysitter, her well-intentioned employer, and a surprising connection that threatens to undo them both.''
Our online forum will be led by Sarah O'Flaherty, who will guide conversations on different themes from the novel, including motherhood, interracial relationships and privilege. We’ll be taking our time and splitting the discussion into four parts over a two week period so you’ll have plenty of time to read. Each time we virtually meet, we’ll discuss a different set of chapters. Whether you’ve read the book already or are reading it as the discussion progresses, this Workshop Series is for you.
Here are the dates for the online book club sessions and the chapters you’ll be expected to read:
Chapters 1-7: Monday, May 4th @ 12:30pm
Chapters 8-14: Thursday, May 7th @ 12:30pm
Chapters 15-21: Monday, May 11th @ 12:30pm
Chapters 22-28: Thursday, May 14th @ 12:30pm
