Beaded Jewellery Workshop @Mosaic HomeCare Toronto
Time & Location
About the Workshop
Boomerang is partnering with Mosaic Home Care to bring you a Jewellery-making Workshop in Mosaic's community space. This Workshop is located in the CNIB Centre at 1929 Bayview Ave, Suite 215H. Our host is the talented Pam Kearns, founder of Peyote Dreams.
Discover the joy of creating your own jewellery! In this beginner beading workshop with Pamela Kearns, you'll learn how to make a crimped bracelet and matching earrings. While making it, you'll explore design options from beads in an array of colours. The findings (clasps, etc.) provided will be in silver plate; however, you will receive sterling earwires to complete the earrings. You don't need any jewellery-making experience for this workshop. All beads and materials needed for the project are included; you will have access to the instructor's tools. Bring magnification, such as reading glasses, if you need - you will be working with fine materials.
About our Host:
Although a seed beader at heart, Pamela Kearns has been branching out into new techniques and combining the best of all worlds into her jewellery creations. She had her first project published in the May/June 2013 issue of Beadwork. Pam taught at the 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Bead and Button Shows in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A problem solver, Pam thoroughly enjoys teaching and inspiring students to think beyond basic techniques encouraging students to stamp their own vision on projects. As a ‘Lefty’, Pam includes ‘Lefty-Alerts’ within her class instructions ensuring that everyone is able to complete the techniques easily. She is very involved in the Toronto Bead Society and teaches several times a month at BeadFX, a bricks-and-mortar/on-line bead store in Toronto.
