About the Workshop
Babka, originally form Eastern Europe is a sweet loaf with gorgeous swirls of chocolate. A literal treat! In this class, she will demonstrate creating her very own dough recipe! Participants will learn the science behind this recipe, then be able to roll out, fill, and bake their own babka loaves! Come join us for an afternoon of baking.
Guests have the option to follow along and create their own babka in real time as Shiela provides step by step instructions OR feel free to just watch and create later! A recipe sheet with ingredients will be shared with you a few days in advance.
There will be an ingredients list emailed to you a few days in advance of the event.
About our Host:
Shiela Labao is a self-taught baker with over 10 years of experience...so you can say that she’s had a lot of practice baking for fun. Realizing that her passion and skills can bring a community together, she decided to get a bit more serious and start baking for a purpose. Shiela has completed professional classes at George Brown College. Always focusing on the science behind the baking.
Accessibility Level: Easy. This workshop can be accessed online through our Boomerang at Home online feature. This is a video conference experience that can be accessed via Mobile, iPad, and Computer devices. Your device must have a microphone and/or camera to participate.
