About the Workshop
Join us on September 26th at The Depanneur to learn how to make your best apple pie from scratch with Helen Nugent. With this workshop, Helen aims to create a relaxing and fun environment in where everyone can discover and develop their pie making skills.
This course is a 2-hour, hands-on experience which includes:
All ingredients and tools
Our foolproof pastry and Apple Pie recipes
A 8" Apple pie (made by you!), ready to bake at home
A slice of freshly baked apple pie to enjoy with your fellow pie makers
New confidence, skill and a fun experience!
You will learn:
The keys to making a flaky, tender crust with a food processor
How to roll pastry the right way
How to create the perfect apple pie filling
The best way to freeze pastry and pies
How to avoid the pitfalls of pie making, at every stage.
About our Host:
Helen brings her lifelong passion for pie-making to this workshop. She is a regular contributor to the Food Network and her pies have been featured in the Globe & Mail and Taste Magazine as well as on the social media accounts of Home and Gardens, Huffington Post, Town and Country Magazine, Country Living Magazine and Bake from Scratch Magazine. Her Instagram account, Batterednbaked, has attracted nearly 30,000 followers in just two years. Helen is currently working on her first pie cookbook which will be released in the US and Canada in Fall 2020.
Join us and learn how rewarding it can be to make pie! All materials are included. You will walk away with a freshly made pie to bake at home. Pie and refreshments will be provided at the workshop.
Accessibility Level: Easy. The workshop is on the ground floor, with an unobstructed ground floor double door that can easily accommodate wheelchairs and other mobility aids. The washroom is on the same floor with a 36" wide door & grab bar, but requires negotiating a very tight 90° turn.
